How Britvia researches and reviews information
Students make expensive, life-changing decisions using information like ours. These ten principles are how we try to deserve that trust.
1. Official sources first
University facts come from official university pages, visa and immigration information from GOV.UK, application information from UCAS, and scholarship details from the scholarship provider. We do not use other agents or consultancies as sources.
2. Every fact records its source
Course and university facts are stored with the official page they came from and the type of source, so anyone can check them.
3. Dates you can see
Pages about fees, entry requirements, scholarships and visas show when they were last reviewed. Course and university records show when they were last verified.
4. Scheduled reviews
Each record has a next review date. Information past its review date is flagged as due for review and is kept out of search indexes, rather than being left online as if it were current.
5. Accountable authorship
Every guide shows who is responsible for it, when it was published and when it was last reviewed.
6. Independent recommendations
Commercial relationships never decide what we write or which courses we suggest. Britvia Match explains every suggestion with its reasons.
7. Clear relationship labels
A university is only described as an official Britvia partner when a formal agreement is in place and verified. Everything else is shown as independent university information.
8. No guarantees and no invented proof
We never promise admission, offers, scholarships or visas, and we never publish testimonials, success rates or student numbers we cannot evidence.
9. Technology supports, people decide
Automated tools may help us organise information, but facts such as fees, deadlines, entry requirements and scholarships are always taken from official sources and checked by a person. We do not publish AI-generated facts.
10. Corrections are welcome
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us. We review reported errors promptly, update the page and its review date, and note significant corrections.
